OUR PERSONNEL

		Melissa Milligan Director  512.858.4924 mmilligan@discoverydayschool.org	This will be my sixth year as Director of Discovery Day School. I'm very excited to be working with so many devoted teachers and staff. Prior to my advancement to director, I served on the staff as a lead teacher for the 3 and 4 year old classes, as well as helping out at different times with the 18 month and 2 year old classes. My college years were spent between Abilene Christian University and Stephen F. Austin State University, where I earned a BBA in Marketing. In my career prior to having kids, I was a Media Director in Houston and Austin for a business to business marketing agency. As well and being blessed by my work, God has given me a wonderful husband of 18 years and 2 children, ages 12 and 10. My life working with children began as an aid in the extended care program at the preschool that my son was attending. Moving to Discovery Day School when my daughter began preschool, I was able to take on the wonderful challenge of teaching a class. The rewards of working with children have been so great, and the blessings continue with each new group of children. I look forward to continuing to learn and grow along with the children in Discovery Day School.
		Jenny Aston Pre-K Teacher  512-858-4924 jaston@discoverydayschool.org	I am happy to be teaching at Discovery Day School. My husband Kevin and I have 2 wonderful children who are 14 and 11 years old. We have lived in Dripping Springs for 3 1/2 years, along with our 2 rescue dogs and 2 chickens! Teaching is my passion! I have a bachelor's degree from Southwest Texas State University in Sociology. More recently I obtained my teacher's certificate through graduate work at Texas State University. I have taught preschoolers from 18 months to 5 years-old, wrote curriculum and taught Science Camps and Music/Movement classes. Additionally, I have taught Kindergarten and 4th grade. Outside of teaching, I am a Girl Scout leader, participate in community outreach through Mobile Loaves and Fishes, and love sports, being outdoors, playing games and reading.
		Jenny Lee 2 yr. Teacher  512-858-4924 jlee@discoverydayschool.org	I am so excited to be at Discovery Day School. I love working with the incredible Two Year Class. My goal is to provide the children with a variety of fun learning experiences so they can continue to grow and develop. I want this to be a safe and exciting introduction into school. I’ve lived in Dripping Springs with my incredible husband for over 10 years. We met in Austin when I had just graduated from UT with a Bachelor of Journalism. I have three wonderful, active children that attend school in our community and are very active in sports and church. I am very involved in my children’s school serving on various committees, the PTA, and as an active volunteer in the classroom. DDS is a great preschool and I’m so excited to be a part of this nurturing staff!
		Casandra Longo 3 yr. teacher  512-858-4924 clongo@discoverydayschool.org	I graduated from UT with a B.S. in Applied Learning and Development. I taught kids with special needs in a public school in Round Rock until my oldest daughter was born. Since then, I have worked in a preschool, taught Sunday School, and led VBS. I also serve as the Director of Children’s Ministries at Grace United Methodist Church. Working with children is my passion. I love to see kids grow and learn. My husband and I have been married for twelve years. We are blessed to two beautiful daughters. Kaylee is seven and loves second grade. Ashlyn is four and will be in Mrs. Aston’s class. We are both looking forward to a wonderful year at Discovery Day School!
